Late Victorian Heavy Cotton Knitted Socks

These lovely primitive hand-knit, heavy cotton Victorian socks date to circa 1900. They are seamed at center back in stockinette stitch for the body with a decorative garter stitch, scalloped edge. These would even be beautiful on your fireplace mantle for Christmas stockings. There is a slight discoloration on each sock to the front ankle, which is much more evident in the pictures than in person. The length of the sock from cuff to toe is 19 inches. From heel to toe 8 1/2 inches long. The lower toebox is 7 inches wide and the top cuff has a 10 inch wide opening. Condition is very good.
