Vintage 1940's Button-Back Satin and Lace Bridal Gown an

This beautiful champagne colored heavy satin 1940's wedding gown is detailed with panels of Belgian lace at the waist, at the hips, and at the wrists, which close with nine buttons each. The elegant rear closure button back has an amazing 45 buttons (6+ somewhat discolored) from the hip to the neck. This dress was originally worn by a bride from Hopkinton, MA. who live at the well-known Stone House on the Boston Marathon trail. This dress measures 12 inches from shoulder to shoulder (rear), waist 24 inches, bust 35 inches. 42 inch hips. armhole opening 15 inches, sleeve length 17 inches from underarm to wrist. Length is 66 inches in the rear with slight train. Length in the front is 54 inches long. The beauty of the dress is in its puffed sleeves, its shirred bustline, narrow wrists, and full skirt. So indicative of the 1940's. Imagine the stunning effect of the intricate back of this gown during the ceremony. Includes lovely pair of vintage satin shoes by 'COWARD' in size 6 1/2 aa. Shoes are in very good condition with some discoloration on the heels. Throughout the gown are numorous age spots (half a dozen eraser sized spots on the left front, discoloration, very minor, at rear of skirt, and one or two spots (eraser sized) in front of skirt. All are very minor. You really have to look for them to find them.
