Circa 1924 Pure Watered Silk with Handmade Duchess Lace Wedding

Elegant champagne watered silk wedding dress with V handmade Duchess lace neckline, front and back. Beautifully hand-smocked detail at dropped waist. The skirt, which has a slight train in the rear, was purchased from Bonwit Teller in NYC (label to headpiece) and worn by a Hopkinton, MA, bride who lived in the famous Stone House on the Boston Marathon trail. This ensemble also includes gorgeous handmade Duchess lace bridal cap and satin wedding shoes with toe embellishment of netting and waxed orange blossoms from Wilbar's Shoes, Boston, which operated from 1920 through 1970, size 7 aaa. Condition is excellant. Four small rust colored stains at the rear of the dress, one in front to the right, half inch long, consistant with its age. Cap is mint. Shoes have minor silk distress to the sides but would certainly last throughout the ceremony. For authentic fit on the dress, must be a size 4-6. Shoulder to shoulder: 17 inches Bust: 36 inches Waist: 34 inches Hips: 60 inches Front length of dress: 44 1/2 inches Back length of dress: 47 1/2 inches
